how we started

Just over four years ago, Don and Cheryl Barber had a vision of doing "Sunday School" in a new and different way and created the concept of goodnews!

Debuting in February 2000, they never dreamed goodnews would even be televised, let alone become the most talked about and popular Christian program in Atlanta.

The award winning goodnews is presented weekly to over one million households in Atlanta, the 9th largest television market in the country, during prime-time. goodnews is done in a talk show format hosted by Don and Cheryl, where Christian guests, talk about their faith in an intelligent, fun, and uplifting format.

goodnews has enjoyed incredible exposure in CCM Magazine, Wofford Today, The Forsyth News, and feature articles written about it in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Focus Magazine, and WirelessAge Magazine.

goodnews has been privileged to cover GMA and the Dove Awards, Festival Con Dios, The Stellar Awards, and CBA events during the past four years of programming. goodnews along with Don and Cheryl has be featured doing interviews from the "red carpet" and "backstage" at the 2003 Movieguide Awards in Los Angeles during "Oscar Week". These interviews aired as part of the national broadcast of the Movieguide Awards on the PAX Television Network in early Spring.

Amazing and celebrated accomplishments without question, but goodnews now stands on the verge of an even more exciting future in 2003: new offices, expanding production, new set and studio, an ever increasing audience, and will soon announce a major national network broadcast! goodnews continues to re-invent the wheel and break the mold of the world's perception of Christians and Christian television!

goodnews brings what is good, hopeful, and uplifting for your life. Each episode features Don and Cheryl Barber and their very special guests from the worlds of sports, music, business, entertainment, and politics.
